To the studs and then back again.
This home started it’s life as the model home for a future neighborhood. After several renovations and additions that weren’t particularly well planned out, the house ended up with a layout that was confused, inefficient and cramped. The owners of the home reached out to us to help them figure out how to make the house feel more connected and function better for their family.
We took the existing layout and striped it back to it’s simplest form while reconfiguring the kitchen to be the heart of the house. While the house lent itself nicely to a an open layout, given the close proximately of the neighbors, we helped design a custom screen wall fabricated from white oak. Not only does this wall help to create some privacy in the kitchen, but it also provides a low light feature to the home. The existing carport was also removed and replaced with a new garage that honors the style, and form factor of the original home. The new garage offers space for wrenching on a vintage Mustang, working out, and hanging out on a Saturday afternoon.
With it’s new layout and purpose, this home is positioned to serve it’s owners for many years to come.
